Two weeks ago we introduced the Five Questions — a test Scott built to make sure every archetype in Shadows earns its place at the table instead of being a reskin of another one. Last session was where the grading happened: Ken, Deighton, and Scott had each answered all five questions for all five archetypes independently, and this was the meeting where the three sets of answers finally got compared side by side.
Most of it locked into place fast — money as the Cyborg’s real cost, hunger as the Vampire’s non-negotiable, time as the Arcanist’s toll, all three answers agreeing without anyone comparing notes ahead of time. Then they got to Professional, and the test broke it wide open. Every other archetype has a verb: Arcanists cast, Cyborgs chrome up, Werewolves brawl, Vampires feed. Professional didn’t have one — and figuring out what belonged in that blank spot took the rest of the night, plus a hard look at what a Cyborg botch should actually feel like and why a Vampire’s been getting away with going two weeks without feeding.
